SHOULD I BE MORE CAREFUL WITH WHAT I POST? Yes, I can go from posting some deeply spiritual ish to a glamour booty vid, and boy do I get tons of flack for it… there’s always someone reprimanding me in the comments, “shoulding” all over me. . As I’ve thought on this, I began reminiscing about time I spent as a mortgage broker(one of my many former careers) and how I could be wearing a very conservative suit to work, but would on occasion get called on by my boss to make sure I was tucking in my shirt, because someone had reported that my midriff was showing when I’d reach for papers on the top shelf in the copy room (this actually happened, amongst other ridiculous complaints about my dress). . After many similar occasions throughout my life, starting in my young childhood with my catholic grandma shaming me for exposing my body parts, & then in middle school where I was bullied for “wearing a padded bra” or having a “ghetto booty”, & where I was pulled out of class repeatedly by my female teachers for wearing a shirt that was “exposing my midriff”, & made to wear a P.E. T-shirt that hid any of my femininity for the better part of my middle school career, it little by little became apparent that it wasn’t the clothes I was wearing that were pissing people off, it was ME: my body, & my brazenness. And I was more than punished into feeling shame for being in this particular body & for being so brazen with it. . I’ve spent too many years of my life being told I am not enough, or I’m too much, and eventually I started telling myself that as well… I’m done running that background script though, and I’ve replaced it with this: I am enough, I am worthy. I am grateful for this healthy and capable body. And you know what, little by little, I’m actually beginning to believe it! . I don’t say any of the above in an attempt to get pity for these minor hardships, I only share these random thoughts in hope this post inspires you to look at where you might be running an old script that no longer serves you, and replace with something that does. And, perhaps, it’ll also get you to stop letting people “should” all over you. 🤟🏼 . 💯 #KeepItREALish edits: none, just ☀️!

Just copped a new mantra and I’m diggin it… got it from a TED Talk, gonna see if the dude from it will come on the podcast to chat, but in the meantime lemme just plant this seed: If we come at life with Truth and Love, relentlessly, we will build the faith we need to surrender to whatever comes our way with easy acceptance, and move through the painful work of it, with grace. Then there will be a pause where we get to absorb the energy we’ve manifested. And from that place, we will grow immensely. . So to put it into a mantra, I’d offer: “Practice Rigorous Authenticity Surrender the Outcome Do the Uncomfortable Work” Integrate with Gratitude . If you wanna watch the TED Talk that inspired this(and I highly recommend you do), search the title: “Great Leaders Do What Drug Addicts Do” @michaelbrodywaite . 📸 @lucasnoonan 💯 #KeepItREALish edits: increased saturation/vibrancy

You Already ARE all the things you think you want to be, maybe you just haven’t done the work to be able to see it yet. . If you look closely at this photo, you can see my implant scars. 👀 Random thing bout me: Many years ago, I had three breast surgeries in 3 years. After my first quadruple lumpectomy surgery where we remove 4, thankfully, non-cancerous breast lumps, I added implants & then, later, had 2 subsequent surgeries in the following 2 years to repair my tissue & reduce the size of my implants cuz I thought they looked ridiculously big on me. Finally, after years of surgery, and years of self-love, I can say I am happy with them the way they are…. . I say all this cuz it’s important to know that not everyone’s journey is as simple as you think. Furthermore, there is serious consideration that needs to be thought through before going under the knife and changing your body, it’s such a mental journey on both sides & I’d recommend first looking DEEPLY at why you want to change the beautiful body you were born with so badly that you’re willing to put your life on the line. I might’ve had some seemingly “necessary” reasons for ending up with implants (breast lumps needing to be removed, my career as a model), but I’d offer a mantra to anyone thinking about changing their body by taking such drastic measures: You Are Enough, You Are Loved. . So let’s start there. You can change the way you see yourself by changing the way you allow the outside world to influence you. What we as a culture consider “beautiful” today is just a trend and it will go out of style soon enough, but one thing that can be agreed as sustainably beautiful by every soul on this planet, is someone who is healthy & happy. So instead of trying to change from the outside in, maybe it’s worth it to try to change from the inside out. I truly believe if you focus on mental and spiritual health, your body will follow suit. It’s actual magic.🔮 #BeALight . 📸 @shove_vone 💯 #KeepItREALish edits: brightened photo

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”-@BarackObama . We can’t change other people. We are all on separate journeys and it’s so important to respect where someone else is on theirs. When we find ourselves being pushy or getting frustrated with where someone else is on their path it’s often because we’re subconsciously frustrated at our own stagnancy somewhere in our own lives. . When it comes to those around us, we can plant seeds and sprinkle some water and fertilizer on them from time to time, but that’s about it; anything more than that and we may hinder their growth. We serve others best by being the brightest ray of sunshine we possibly can. Let our glow reaches those that need its warmth and light to guide them as something to grow towards. #BeALight . 📸 @lucasnoonan 💯 #KeepItREALish edits: increased vibrancy and contrast.

WHO DEFINES OUR WORTH? . 👁There’s a journey we all take: remembering, rediscovering, and reclaiming our self worth. We come into this world, often with such strong curiousity and naïveté that there is little room left for fear or mistrust(you can witness this in how children play)… & as we begin down the paths of our lives we collect the ideals, impressions, & instructions others press on us. We begin to compare ourselves to those around us & to what we see in the media. We learn how to lie & how to cheat… ultimately, we disconnect from our inner knowing, & instead attach ourselves to external things, people, & opinions. I like to call this: assembling our “domestications”. . 👁Once we move into our adult years we’ve formulated our own opinions about the world & about ourselves, through these domestications. As our journey continues we often find ourselves struggling with our own worthiness, our sense of self, our confidence in our own abilities. In this place we often feel lost, or lacking in some way, be it love, money, sex, etc. And because of our domestications, we often seek a way to escape the discomfort that comes with the lack. In doing so we choose to become the victim of circumstance, blame others, berate ourselves, & become angry at the world and those around us. This is “externalizing”, & to our ego it seems like the easy way out, but in actuality it just delays our healing & growth. It hinders you from stepping into our power & abundance. It’s a short term fix for a long term problem, but the ego doesn’t see things from that perspective- it’s all about just surviving the day, looking only at what’s going to keep you comfortable & “safe”, & could care less about your dreams & the bigger picture. . 👁It’s my belief, that as we are able to become conscious of where we are externalizing & allowing old, unhelpful patterns born from our domestications to puppeteer our lives, we can remove those fallacies & realign with our authentic truth; our inner knowing. 👁YOU ALREADY ARE. . 💯 #KeepItREALish edits: in comments
